One of the leading programs in the Carolinas, Highlights Healthcare serves young children with autism and related disorders. We specialize in serving children and families with Medicaid benefits.
Through diagnostic evaluations utilizing specific Autism testing tools, early intervention, and therapy services, we work with each family individually and help with every aspect of what they need: diagnostic evaluation, assessments, ABA therapy plans, understanding insurance plans, and any other areas of concern.
We also help families find and navigate other services and community resources that may be available to them and help navigate insurance plans, deductibles, co-payments, reimbursement programs, and potential grants.
Our team works with each family individually with every aspect of navigating their loved one’s diagnosis of autism. We provide comprehensive assessment including collaboration with the family and other professionals that may be involved, individualized plans to meet each learner’s unique needs; and ongoing coaching and support for caregivers and family members to apply strategies and interventions across environments.
Highlights Healthcare is especially effective in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), evaluating children, and planning ABA therapies that will target their specific, individual challenges. Every child is different and special in their own way, so our therapy plans are developed for their individual needs.
The expertise level of our BCBAs (board Certified Behavior Analysts) and RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians) is specialized and focused. We are the best at what we do.
At Highlights a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a Master’s level professional who has completed coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, has a high level of supervised clinical experience, has passed a national certification exam, and is certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. BCBAs are required to renew their certification every two years, which includes ongoing continuing education.
Our Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and Behavior Technician (BT) are paraprofessionals who complete an extensive 40-hour training specific to the application of Applied Behavior Analysis. RBTs have passed a competency assessment and a national certification exam. RBTs typically have extensive experience in education and/or special education, childcare, behavioral health, psychology, and other related backgrounds.
